I'm the daughter of an Army Colonel (and the granddaughter of a Naval Captain) -- I've always had an affinity for military staples and I always will, no matter what the fashion industry says for each season. Lucky for me, while camo trends one season, nautical styles trend the next. For Fall/Winter 2014, camo and olive drab (dull green khaki) is hitting the spot for me.

A few ground rules apply when talking camouflage. Never pink --- tres tacky. Never that leafy antler print that hunters use --- that's straight up redneck. Never pair with combat boots --- too literal. Choose one piece ONLY and pair it with something feminine like a silk camisole or unexpected like slick black leather.

Think camo is too much for apparel? Go for an accessory instead...a little goes a looooong way.
